FUSING HORIZONS
Nominated for The British Fantasy Award What other branch of writing engages the consumer so thoroughly as imaginative tales? I chose my title deliberately, this being a metaphor for the reading process: when the horizon of the artist meets that of the audience, a true fusion is achieved, potentially explosive like something chemical which is indeed what the best of art manages; in the present case, the ineffable paradox of fear that has so many of us safe at home with the doors locked, yet shuddering like cave-bound primitives! And if a little thought is necessary also, so be it. We evolve as people by recognizing in ourselves the emotional and the cognitive, givng each free reign.
