GäRY FRY

"The greatest satisfaction may be in discovering or helping new writers. I believe I was the chap who first saw Steve Rasnic Tem and Marc Laidlaw among others into professional print. . . . Most recently I was delighted to bring Gary Fry to the world in Gathering the Bones . . ."

– from an interview with Ramsey Campbell on SciFi.Com

WELCOME . . .

... and thank you for visiting my dark world. You may never get away, though I expect that to be as much to do with the vicissitudes of technology — a jammed Web connection, maybe? — than any sinister under-prowling of my approach. You see, I'm not very interested in the traditional spectres of horror fiction... at any rate, none that doesn't serve as a vehicle for existential consideration. My work is about everyday life; there's as much terror on the street as there can be from supernatural sources. Indeed seeking explanatory recourse to phantoms is only a psychological illusion. We did it, we do it — and that includes you and me. So if you're interested in learning one or two things about yourself (really that's all it will take to bring down the empire ego) then forge ahead, read on. Whatever your excuse, it's a bad one; have faith rather in uncomfortable truths...
